After all the wet and windy and cold weather we have been having for forever the last few weeks, I was determined that when I awoke to blue skies, sunshine and no – I repeat NO – rain on Sunday morning that we would be going out somewhere. Anywhere really just to get out of the house, because who knew when the next dry day would occur. I have seen so many posts recently of people visiting the beach that I have had beach withdrawal symptons for the past month or so! Burton had been poorly Friday and Saturday, so I was keeping everything crossed that he would be be feeling better so he could make the most of the sunshine too.
Fortunately, although not 100% better, Burton was well enough to come to the beach and I think the warm sunshine, azure sky and the beach itself was a good tonic for him. He and Jenson had so much fun running and jumping along the damp sand, collecting shells, splashing in the little rock pools and paddling in the sea. It felt good to be out and enjoy the fresh air and just the fact that it was dry and not raining! Being at the beach always feels a bit like being on holiday and that makes me happy and nostalgic.
I love it.
They love it.
We all loved it.
It was just a simple, ordinary hour and a half but it was just what was needed for all four of us, and I cannot wait to return.

We went to the beach on Sunday too – grabbed that sunshine with both hands and ran with it so to speak and when were there (near Brighton) it was much busier than usual, so it looks like lots of us had the same idea! Beautiful photos – great sense of space and hope it’s not too long before you can do it again 🙂

I miss the beach. I grew up at the coast then moved inland when I was 18. It’s so good to get some fresh sea air. Looks like your kids had a great time and sounds like it was ‘just what YOU needed’ 🙂

Being at the beach is good for the mind and body and it looks like the boys had a wonderful time playing in the sand and the winter sunshine. The beach is great whatever the season and free too! Thanks for linking up and sharing your outdoor fun with Country Kids.
