Getting Creative In The Kitchen For Breakfast

I don’t know about you but sometimes I get a bit bored with breakfast and end up having the same things day in and day out.  Here is a guest post with some tips for getting creative in the kitchen: five great (and wholesome) breakfast ideas

A family may be a tight-knit unit but that’s not to say that tastes can’t vary widely when it comes to breakfast. Whether family members have specific health needs or wake up in the mood for something different every day of the week, satisfying everyone’s taste buds in the morning can sometimes be a challenge. Why not make things easier with some creative breakfast ideas?

Breakfast muffins
The breakfast muffin is a great way to add some variety to your mornings. Serving up this tasty treat is a sure fire way to put adults and kids alike in the mood for food and they can be really wholesome too.

Breakfast muffins are incredibly versatile so feel free to experiment by serving them with blueberries, banana and other fruits to kick start your family’s five-a-day. You could even add tasty crunchy oat granola to the mixing bowl and sprinkle some on top for that satisfying crispy crunch.

Chunky Nut Breakfast Bites
Breakfast cereals can be used in all sorts of baking recipes to whip up delicious breakfast treats. Chunky Nut Bites are 10-minute wonders that are super easy to make and contain traditional porridge oats as well as chunky nuts.

Oats help you feel ready to face the day, are a great source of insoluble fibre and help to lower cholesterol so why not introduce the benefits of oats to the whole family at breakfast time?

Strawberry and honey breakfast smoothie
What better solution for a quick and easy breakfast than a delicious smoothie? Breakfast in a glass means busy grown-ups can multitask in the mornings and it also mixes things up a bit for the kids.

It’s so simple to make as well – simply put 100g chopped strawberries, 100g low fat natural yogurt, 1 peeled and chopped banana, 100g clear honey, 100g Jordans Natural Muesli and 200ml chilled skimmed milk into a blender and whizz until smooth.

Granola and yogurt combo
Greek yogurt is scrumptious on its own, but adds some irresistibly crunchy granola and you’ve got a winning combination the whole family is sure to love! Top yoghurt with juicy fresh fruit and a generous handful of Jordans Super 3 Seeds Granola and you’ve got a simple but delicious breakfast.

It’s easy to personalise as well since you can tailor the yogurt and fruit to each family member’s preferences.

 Very Berry Breakfast Pot
A colourful breakfast pot packed with juicy fresh fruit is a great start to any day and is very easy to make. All you need to do is mix 200g Greek yoghurt with 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and dollop this into glasses containing your chosen fruit.

Sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of Super Berry Granola over the top with a drizzle of honey for sweetness and chill overnight. This is a simple yet effective breakfast idea to ensure your family wake up to at least one of their five-a-day.
