The Trees and Decorations Are Up #Christmas2013

Dear Burton and Jenson,

We have had a very festive weekend and I hope you have both enjoyed it as much as I have done. Although a week later than I would have liked really, I did manage to persuade Daddy to let us have our trees up a week earlier than he would prefer and today we got them decorated and the house is looking so festive and beautiful right how.

Yesterday, we went and bought 3 trees – 2 large ones for the entrance hall and lounge and a small potted one for the kitchen we which can plant in the garden in the new year, and hopefully be able to use every Christmas going forward for the next few years (or as long as it lasts – whichever comes first!). You both enjoyed helping to choose our two biggger trees, and you, Burton, helped carry one of them to the car, and even Buddy the Elf lent a hand!IMG_1169 (2)This morning by 9am I put one of the music channels on for Noddy Holder’s top 50 Christmas tunes (any excuse to have a Christmas song cheese-fest sing-a-long!), and we got cracking with the decorating. We decided to make the one in the hall have a red, white and silver colour theme and the lounge tree brown and gold. I love both themes but I think I like the former the best, because red, white and green are Christmas colours and because this tree showcases some baulbles I bought for your first Christmas Burton – my first as a mummy – and some ones that both of you have made. And – not forgetting – the first gift of Christmas bells that Father Christmas gave you each last year when we travelled on the Polar Express.

You both enjoyed being allowed to put the star on top of each tree – you were in charge of the hall one Burton and you the lounge, Jenson. Daddy lifted you both up high above his head and you looked like little supermen flying toward the tree!baublesCollagebaubles1 Collagebaubales6 Collagebaubles2 CollageBstarredtreerudolphbaubles3 Collagebaubles4 Collagejstarlounge treeDaddy and I allowed you to choose the baubles for the little tree for the kitchen, and you went for some bright colours and Jenson was particularly pleased because the colour scheme included green and purple – his two favourite colours! You were both chuffed with your finsihed tree ๐Ÿ™‚kithcen treekitchentrteeI found some crackers so you both pleaded with me to be allowed one so I thought why not, and you both loved wearing your hats – which were a bit too big – and discovering your jokes and cracker gifts.ย jcrackerbcrackerWhile we were busy indoors, Daddy had been busy outside fitting lights around the front of the house – how festive we look now!outsideThis will be our first Christmas at home boys and in our new home too and I for one cannot wait!! I am excited to be starting some new traditions for us as a family, and hopefully ones that you might continue when you have families of your own.

Oh and there is something you need to know about your Mummy – I am such a big kid when it comes to Christmas and I am probably more excited about it then you both together! I also love all the cheeseyย fantastic Christmas songs and will sing along badly to each one, something that will probably embarrass you greatly the older you both get! Please humour me!

Here is to a fantastic Christmas 2013!!

Lots of love Mummy x x x
