Christmas is over 🙁
Every year it makes me sad when another one finishes and the next one is another 365 days away! (Unless its a leap year and then it is even longer!)
Still, as with all good things that come to and end this Christmas has and it was rather wonderful spending it with my little family.
- Seeing the amazement in Burton and Jenson’s eyes Christmas Day morning.
- The way their faces lit up when they realised that Father Christmas had been and Burton admitting that helping me to prepare the brussel sprouts two days earlier, really had helped him to receive his presents!
- The delight in their smiles when they saw the mince pie had been eaten, most of the carrot gone and the glass of milk they had left out for Santa and Rudolph finished was so sweet.
- The little excited dancing they did when they saw their bulging sacks and all the gifts wrapped beneath the Christmas tree
- The way they frantically tore off the wrappping paper of every gift that they found belonging to them and the smiles that this produced
Magical – this is the only word that really sums Christmas up for me. It really is the best time of the year and this one was the first one we spent at home and it was a good one.
We had Granma and Grampy stay Christmas Eve to spend Christmas Day with us and I cooked waaaaay too much food but everyone said they enjoyed it. Well, when I say everyone, the boys just ate a bit of sausage and gravy *sighs* but that was their loss quite frankly because they missed out on lots of yummy festive food fayre!
The boys had lots of lovely toys from playdough ice cream parlour and cupcake shoppe, to tractors and Playmobil dinosaur playset, to a counting pogo stick, their first onesies, games, books, new slippers and bean bags and lots more besides. Bearing in mind that Jenson only really wanted a Raa Raa (the Noisy Lion) DVD and Burton wanted ‘everything and a dinosaur’ I think it is fair to say they both did very well in the presents department! They have so many new things that in the new year I must have a sort out of all of their toys, and get rid of ones that are now too young/not played with anymore. Mind you I say this every Christmas and never get around to it!
Burton chose my gifts this year from him and Jenson, as he and daddy went shopping Christmas Eve afternoon and he chose me a red mug, some wooden spoons and brushes for baking, a knitted hot water bottle, some cake boards, some bath and body products and a laptop tray. He could not wait for me to open them all – bless him he was so sweet and excited to see me open the gifts he chose and helped to wrap up for his Mummy!
Here is a look back at our ChristmasEve/Christmas Day 2013
I hope you all had a wonderful and magical Christmas too xx

Ah I know what you mean, I even felt a little sad on Christmas Eve before it was even over! This is what I’ve been trying to explain to Aaron about how I love the run up to Christmas actually more than the day itself as it’s over so fast. Looks like you had a fab day, we did too and I really feel like I need to blog about it but don’t know where to start (also I’ve posted about Boxing day now and it feels out of sync lol )

The boys reactions to the camera and the presents made me laugh so much. Jenson in the bear suit is my favourite. They are so funny. It looks like such a wonderful day.
How do you look so fresh faced in the morning?! Our lot had to wait for me to do my make up before we went down for presents. ha!
I love your tree too. We’re already planning ours for next year and I want one the same shape as that! xx
