Last Sunday we took the boys to Whistlandpound which is a resevoir on the edge of Exmoor just a 20 minutes car journey for us. Funnily enough, we visited here a year ago and I recall that when we were there last year, I thought to myself we must take the boys next summer as I have only seen this place in the autumn months! Not that I mind going during November, because there are still some beautiful autumnal scenery and nature’s treasures which always make me smile, and make me appreciate the stunning area in which I love and bring my boys up in.
A year ago the boys looked like this
Jenson could not ride a bike then , he was sat in a bike seat on Daddy’s bike but now a year later he is happily whizzing along on his balance bike confidently and I dont think it will be long until he has one with pedals!
The scenery around the resevoir is just breathtaking and sometimes you need to stop and take it all in.
Then enjoy the woodland and all that nature has to offer in its natural playground with its mossy tree stumps, sticks, leaves and banks for climbing and sliding down!
Then after all that fresh air, bike riding, climbing and playing, a little drink and snack is well deserved and needed!

Something magical about moss covered tree trunks. It does look like a lovely place. Need to add it to my list of places to go. #CountryKids

It looks a really beautiful place to visit. The trees completely covered in moss are so nice. I remember the photo from last year where the boys were stood on the little wooden toadstools. Time flies by so quickly, it definitely doesn’t feel like a year ago!

What a beautiful place to visit, the reservoir looks so tranquil with it’s lovely reflections. I can see how much fun the boys had by their happy smiles and fab poses, it’s great to see them both on their bikes. Thanks for linking up and sharing your outdoor family fun with Country Kids.

Awesome day out what a great place. I find myself looking at old pics sometimes when I visit the same place again and it’s great to notice how much they have grown and changed! You have two great active little boys there!
