As regular readers to my blog will know, I am all for going outdoors in all weathers and letting the boys run about and enjoy the fresh, if sometimes a little too fresh, air! Providing they are properly kitted out with their wellington boots and appropriate waterproofs I am happy to let them be free to splash and splosh about in the muddiest of puddlesI mean look at that – it is just fun and to be honest if the puddle were bigger and I had been with a spare set of clothes too, I would have been in with them jumping and giggling along with them! At the end of the day my boys are children and they love nothing more than jumping in wet and often dirty puddles, and what harm does it do? I am not going to stop them from having some fun, and this type of fun is what childhoods should be about and something that Burton and Jenson need to do now as they probably wont do one day when they are older.
Besides I am lucky enough to have a washing machine at home and that is perfectly capable of cleaning the muddiest of clothes and coats – a common occurance after returning home from the park or even coming in from the garden with my two boys sometimes! Thank goodness I do not have to wash all their clothes by hand – I might not be quite as enthusiastic about them jumping in muddy puddles then. Mind you, knowing my two no amount of trying to prevent them would work anyway, because it is like they can sniff out the biggest puddles aroundwhen we are out after we have had some rain.
Still, it is all about what you get used to isn’t it? I remember in the days before I was also lucky enough to have my own dishwasher , that I would happily – ok maybe not happily exactly! – but I would get stuck into washing all my dirty pots, cups and plates etc.. up by hand. In fact I recall that when I was offered a dishwasher in my previous house for the new kitchen, I actually said that maybe I did not need one because washing up by hand was not that bad! *shakes head* I cannot believe I uttered that sentence! Fortunately, my OH ignored my naivety and got me one anyway – thank goodness he did not listen to me!
Nowadays I would find it hard to manage my household without either appliance! That’s the problem when you get too used to have such mod cons in your life isn’t it!

It looks awesome fun, I love seeing kids dirty to be honest, to me it means they’re having fun. I get some funny looks here when I let LPV play with the water fountains, he’s soaked by the time we head back to our hotel room. People are obsessed with clean children in dubai
