I think I might be guilty of being a bit of a hoarder.
Not a massive one like you see on those programmes on the television, you understand but when it comes to having a clear our of items we no longer need in our home I am not very good at bagging things up and taking them to the nearest recycling bank or charity shop. I did get rid of some stuff when we moved house last December, but it is amazing how much I still kept!
I have been saying to myself, my family and friends since last spring that I needed to have a clear out and then go and do a car boot over the summer, and make some money from our unwanted items that are still in good condition and therefore sellable.
But did I?
No!
Then I decided that once Burton started school it would give me more time to have a really good clear out and make a big effort to sort through everything – toys, books, clothes, baby things like a buggy, high chair and cot and advertise them on a bidding site or a local facebook group and try and make some money.
Guess what?
Burton started school just over a month ago now and all I have done is fill one shopper bag with clothes that no longer fit the boys, and join some of those facebook groups. However, I have not actually taken any photos to upload and try and sell them!
I am useless.
However, as Christmas is fast approaching and seeing as though being a full time SAHM means I do not earn an income, I am now determined to make an even bigger effort and sell some things for cash. With Christmas comes more new toys, books and clothes for the boys and I need to make room for these and there are things that are no longer played with, read or worn anymore.
I also need to face up to the fact that it is pointless me keeping hold of clothes, shoes and jackets which no longer fit me post children and accept that I am probably never going to fit into them again. Rather than keep them bagged up at the top of my wardobe and in the chest of drawers in the spare room, I should think about the money I could make from selling them on line. Easy money really and for not really doing anything too taxing! It could make all the difference when it comes to having a Christmas we can afford.
Right then, I am off upstairs to have yet another sort out of my clothes and actually be ruthless ……….you heard it here first!
Repeats to self :”I am not a hoarder”
