Last weeekend saw lots of puddles on the ground after a lot of heavy rain Friday night and then continual drizzle most of Sunday. We must not complain, afterall the summer months had been full of sunshine and warm days of allowing us to play outdoors from after breakfast to after tea. It was a glorious summer infact!
Not being ones to let a bit of rain stop them from getting in on some fun outside play, Burton and Jenson participated in some puddle action. Saturday the sun was out after the rain so it made for some magnificent relfections in the carpark which we walked across after swimming. Burton could not resist this beauty of a puddle! Crocs and all!
Sunday afternoon we had been invited to Daddy’s parents for a roast beef dinner (yum – another sign that autumn is here as it was the first roast dinner we had eaten in ages). Before it was ready the boys played outside – Jenson went paddling in some puddles in the lane without any wellies on and Burton rode one of the bikes through the puddles for about half an hour until he was soaked through to his pants!
It was a fitting end to a wonderful summer of lots of outdoors play and fun and just because it is autumn the fun does not end there. Now we have falling multi coloured leaves to catch and walk through – all those noises and colours to see – puddles to splash though and conkers and acorns to find. Some of my favourite photos taken of the boys last year were taken last autumn. I do love this time of year but I will miss those warmer months too when geting ready to go out takes less time !
Oh what a good Mum you are – I’m one of those “mind the puddle” parents #boringmum 😉
Crocs are perfect for puddles because it means you don’t end up with wet socks. Really on the roast dinner front? We tend to have them most Sundays, if I can, dh not so keen due to him doing the washing up.
Am loving the muddy marks up the back of the top.
Those are very impressive puddles!
Fabulous puddle pics! C loves puddles! She spent our walk home from school during the week trying to find some to jump in. x
I used to love going for a bike ride just after it rained and I used to come back covered in mud.
I’m normally the one that tells them to keep out the puddles
As you say it’s sad that the warmer weather has gone and Autumn is on the way but, it’s a lovely season with all the fab colours and lots of activities still to be enjoyed outside. It’s great to see the boys having a blast in the puddles and their muddy clothes as a result! Thanks for linking up and joining in with Country Kids.
Got to admit, I’ve never played in puddles myself and the kids haven’t either….should let them really…it is so much fun!
there is nothing better and puddle jumping x
Love the puddle splashing. Crocs are perfect for this! And the muddy back is brilliant – so much fun 🙂
Yummy I love love roast dinners. You’ve now popped the idea into my head and Im wondering about having it today 🙂 z loves puddles too. Even if its only about 1mm deep!!
I love the muddy back photos! And how cool is that big puddle in the first photo? Thanks for linking up this time again & your lovely comments on my post xxx
You are so good, I’d have been moaning at them to get out of the puddles! I don’t remember playing in them a a kid and to be honest I only took Leo out the first time last year after seeing so many posts for Country kids (Until I saw how much he enjoyed it so did it again, although only when the rain had stopped lol)
