Tuesday started off a cold and grey day but despite this I told the boys that I would take them to the beach for some sand castle building. However, upon stepping on to Instow beach it soon became clear how freezing cold it was and after 30 minutes of sand time play I told the boys, much to their dismay, that it was time to leave and head back to the car.
As it was still early, I decided to drive the few miles further into Bideford and take them to the park there as despite driving past it many, many times over the years, I have never actually been there myself let alone take the boys. Well, we were all impressed by what we found – two playgrounds no less and not too many children either so no waiting to use things. So many different activities for them to try – bouncing, jumping, climbing, balancing, sliding, swinging, see sawing and more that we ran out of time to explore. Different colours, shapes and textures to touch and see as well – they really enjoyed themselves. Plus with the sun deciding to make an appearance it was a little warmer than it had been at the beach thank goodness!!
. It was also very colourful which appealed to the boys immediately – the boys nicknamed it the rainbow park (of course Mummy!).
What I noticed the most was how confident Jenson is now in using the playground amenities and he just wants to go wherever his brother goes, even if he is too short or young and a couple of times he proved me wrong when I told him he wouldn’t be able to do something. Like this rope bridge which I said he was too little to cross – he did it in his own time and with a little hold of my hand in the middle!

I only bought an hour’s car park ticket, so all too soon we had to head off. However, we will be returning again when it is a little warmer with a picnic next time because it really was a brilliant park with more things still for us to explore and have some fun with.
Its always nice being surprised and discovering another great place to play that you didn’t realise existed.

What a great find! I love to see my wee man’s confidence grow and going to park is one of the best ways to see it. I have just noticed how his feet actually leave the floor when he is jumping on the trampoline. It’s the little things really 🙂

It looks like a fun park! It reminds me of one not too far from us, although last time I went with Harry it looked like they were re-doing a lot of it.
They’d alredy replaced the old, fun traditional bits with weird new bits which are unsuitable for small children (Burton and Charles’ age) and you seem to need an instruction manual to know how to use it.

Looks like a great park! I love finding a new one and it always seems good to find somewhere different to take them, as much for us Mums as for them. There is one by my Nana’s that still has some old playground things and I keep meaning to take Lucas. I love that Jenson is getting more confident, he must want to do everything his brother does. It won’t be long until he’ll be able to follow him everywhere on the playground. It looks like a fun day but I am desperate for some sun, getting fed up of putting Lucas’ hat and mittens on everytime we go out! xx

What a fabulous park, there’s so many different areas in there for them to explore. It’s great to see someone in the parks department really think about what the children need.
