Washing.
Its just endless some days isn’t it?
Just when you think you have caught up with it all, another pile of dirty laundry suddenly appears from nowhere and off you go again to the washing machine *sighs*.
And when I say ‘appears’, what I really mean is, of course, that the pile only occurs after I have played hunt the clothes that need washing game, by searching anywhere but the actual laundry pile area! My OH is not very good at leaving his worn clothes in the correct place, preferring instead to leave items all over the house! I really enjoy playing laundry treasure hunt *inserts sarcastic tone to my voice*.
With two boys, I just know already that I am always going to have a lot of clothes to wash. I am already thinking that mud, grass, paint, and blood stains are going to feature quite highly throughout their childhoods and probably during the teenage years too. Its daft really, but when we have ben outdoors playing and they are wearing something nice and newish, I cant help myself but the woman and mummy inside me makes themselves known and I hear myself telling them to not to this or that incase they get dirty and ruin their jumper or trousers or whatever.
Like, seriously?
They are children.
They are boys.
They are always going to be getting themselves into scrapes and up to mischief, and wherever they play, dirty clothes are inevitable! I mean, they make enough mess indoors just from eating their food or using felt tip pens!
I need to accept this and embrace the stains left on their clothes and see them as badges of fun and playtime instead. Afterall, if they never got dirty clothes, they wouldn’t be doing anything fun would they? And messy fun is the best kind.
Thank goodness for my washing machine is all I can say!
