The OH and I have been together for 7 years now, since 8th November 2005. I wrote about how we met on a previous flashback
here .
We have actually just returned from going out for a meal (tapas – yummy!) with some friends which was nice as the last few ‘anniversaries’ we haven’t done anything as we usually forget the date to be honest! Well, if truth be told we arranged to go out for a meal first, and then I remembered the significance of today’s date which is more than the OH did!
When I reminded him that our ‘anniversary’ of when we got together was happening on Thursday, and I told him it was going to be seven years, he did admit that it didn’t feel that long. I told him that I would take that as a good sign and that must mean that he hasn’t got a 7 year itch!
It seems strange to look back and remember how we were back then. He was living at home with his parents (his house, in which we now live, was uninhabitable at that time), and I shared a house with my ex while we waited for it to sell. He mostly worked from home doing odd IT jobs for people as he was currently ‘between’ contracts when we met, and I worked 6 days a week in my own cafe in another town.
Here is a very flashback photo recap of the last 7 years
This photo was taken about a week after we decided to see each other as a couple
I look so young!!! So young and so much slimmer! I cannot believe I wore earrings back then – I must have been trying to make an effort for my new man lol! (November 2005)
The first Christmas (2006) we spent together as the year before I went to Kenya to see my friend get married!
Uhm what can I say, other than I am a tad embarrassed at how much cleavage is on show in that dress! (December 2007)
Me at work in my ‘office’ aka under the sink lol. I was 2 weeks pregnant here (start of November, 2008) but, of course, I did not this yet (eeeeek!).
Taken at a family ‘do’ in November 2009
We don’t have many photos taken of the two of us or the three of us when Burton was very small – actually that is the same as it now! We dont have hardly any photos of the four of us.
This photo was taken at the end of October 2010 while I was in the early stages of my second pregnancy.
Awww here are my cheeky boys. This time last year, Jenson had just started to sit up by himself which meant he was able to interact more (and better) with Burton, which he loved! They were able to play together and it was a lovely sight to watch.
And here we all are now. A family. The four of us. Seven years of smiles, laughter, tears, arguments and toddler tantrums! OK so that last one has only been a tiny part of those seven years, but they still count in some small way.
Seven years. Where have they gone?
Its all a blinking of an eye really isnt it?
It really is frightening how fast time goes by.
This post was brought to you as part of Flashback Friday
This is a linky where you can link up a flashback of your own
Remember a flashback can be from any time whether it be yesterday, last week, last month, last year or yesteryear! It can be a flashback of your own, your children, your partner or your friends. And if you don’t want to write a post, then just link up a photo with a date. If you don’t have time to write a new post, no problem simply link up a post you have already posted.
Next week – there is no theme so any step back in time is welcome.
