So it is Sunday once again and time for my week that was
Usual kind of day with Burton going to Ladybirds. When he got home we attempted to go for a walk, we got down the bottom of our road when he dug his heels in and refused to wear his coat (it had started to drizzle) and wouldn’t walk so after 20 minutes I got him and the buggy and Jenson back in the house and then some fighting to sit on the naughty step followed *sighs*. Eventually, he did his time out and we went out for our walk!
I was brave today and took the boy to a Tumble Tots (its not called this but same type of thing) kind of session at the leisure centre. They both enjoyed it, although Burton is really a little old for it as the group is meant to be until children are 30 months, but the session for his age would not allow Jenson!
This afternoon we went to the park as although it was windy and not that warm, it was dry
Granma took Burton and his cousin to a soft play centre this morning and back to hers this afternoon, so Jenson and I spent the day together. We popped into town to get a few groceries and on the way home I let him walk which he enjoyed very much, even if it did take a long time!
It was a beautiful sunny day today, so I packed up a picnic and because I had use of the car today I took the boys to a local stately home which has its own castle. I wrote about our day here
We all had a lovely time with lots of fresh air and sunshine and smiles.

Then after tea we took Burton for his first official swimming lesson taster session. Of course he passed with flying colours and we have enrolled him for some more. He really enjoyed it even if he did keep shouting up to us in the viewing gallery and waving!!!
This morning I was brave again and took the boys to a toddler playgroup in a nearby village where we dont know anyone!! It was actually nice and the mums were friendly and it was only a small group in a large village hall, so lots of room for playing and doing crafts. I am going to try and go every week now.
Afterwards, we went to our local softplay to meet my friend and her little boy and spent three hours tearing around!!
This morning the boys and I did the shopping at Tesco and then when we got home, while Jenson napped, Burton and I baked a chocolate cake. As we put it in the oven my step dad and grandparents arrived (my Mum had a migraine so she couldn’t make it). After lunch and cake, Daddy and my step dad set to work making a back door for our yard while my grandparents and I took the boys to the park to feed the ducks and have a visit to the playground.
We all went swimming this morning and then we went to see Granma and Grampy.
Afterwards, we dropped Daddy off home and then the boys and I went to my Mums for the afternoon to make the most of my grandparents being down, as we dont see them that often. My Mum was still suffering so while she rested the rest of us went for a walk.
And that concludes my week that was, as I sit here enjoying a cuppa and watch Downtown Abbey.

Well done for being brave twice this week. Without sounding odd I’m really proud of you.
I love the photos as always. Especially love the one of Jenson on Wednesday.
It’s great that your grandparents are active enough (sorry that sounds so horrid) to be able to go to the park with you. Neither of my nans would be able to do that and I feel as though we miss out sometimes because of it. xx

That cake looks amazing. Way to go you, I’m so proud of you for being so brave. I love the picture of J and his monkey, he’s changed so much in a short time. Great week Hugs x

It’s really lovely your grandparents are such a part of Burton and Js life still. It’s always so daunting going to a new play group isn’t it? Glad you enjoyed it though!! 🙂
