Here is a boy. My boy, my water loving, crazy boy who despite the sudden downpour on our way to the park decided he would visit the playground anyway and have a run around. As you can see from the photograph I am trying to stay as dry as I possibly can by sheltering under some trees, not that it really helped as I was already wet.
We were the only ones mad enough to be in the playground – anyone else in the vicinity had made a dash for the shelter across the way, but not my boy. Despite only wearing his crocs on his feet (yes, mummy fail as he should have been wearing his wellies), he still splashed in the puddles. He is literally jumping in this photo and I love his enthusiasm to have a good time, never mind that it was raining! Even though it was raining very hard, he still went on the basket swing and even laid down flat as I spun him round!
As I said, crazy boy!!
I recall a conversation I had on twitter the week before last, where some of us were discussing the wet weather and how it doesn’t actually put children off from going out, because as long as they are protected from the ailments they will still have fun.
This is so true of Burton and as we approached the park last Tuesday, and the heavens literally opened, I did contemplate retreating back home as quickly as possible. But then I remembered those tweets and I realised that it was me who had the problem with getting wet and not my child. Ok, so I will get wet hair which will look like Crystal Tips as it starts to dry again, and yes my clothes will get wet. Yet does this really matter?
No, no it doesn’t.
So onwards to the park we went and Burton spent a happy 20 minutes running around in the rain before even he concluded “me not like the rain anymore, Mummy”.

I love this photo, so much going on: the colourful rectangles and their reflection in the puddles, and Burton cutting his path through it all while airborne!

I am glad you saw the same things I did. It was quite by chance when it took it as I don’t see everything in it until I looked at it back home. I like how the leaves frame the top of th photo too and how the colour red is so prominent x
