So here I am again with my week that was.
Monday
means Ladybirds and Burton’s 5th attendance took place. There were still tears and a BIG reluctance to enter or be left there, but he settled in much quicker which was great news.
When I collected him I took him and Jenson to the park as it was such a glorious sunny day
Afterwards, we went to the Royal Mail sorting office to collect a parcel from Warner Brothers which had got way laid and contained a brilliant bundle of past Oscar winning or nominated films on DVD (one of which is my favourite film of all time Gone With The Wind ) and my willing little helper carried it home for me
Tuesday
Burton woke up this morning declaring that “me want to go to the zoo” umm…..right I thought well we can’t go today but I will bear this in mind for a weekend day trip vey soon. He went on about the zoo so many times today and I have no idea where or any he had this notion!
We didn’t do a lot today. We visited Jon’s mum for a cuppa (for me) some playtime (the boys) and a visit to the naughty step for 12 minutes – broken up into 4 lots of 3 minutes until the word sorry was uttered – for Burton!
Wednesday
Burton, Jenson and I made our weekly trip to Jon’s parents which is always nice for the boys to play with their cousin, Ben……well Burton mainly as Jenson tries to join in but the bigger boys tend to leave him behind!
Thursday
The boys and I went to visit my Mum today as Jon had to go to Bath for work so we dropped him off to meet his work colleagues near Tiverton, and then headed up to Mums. It was really lovely to see Jenson wanting to interact with Mum’s dog, Shadow, who Burton adores, and was really excited to see him and even stroked him really gently! the day also involved lots of playing and Grandad sharing his chocolate button which both boys ere keen to get involved with!
Friday
This morning Jenson had a really long nap – almost 2 1/2 hours – so I spent the time making a belated birthday cake for my step dad and playing with Burton. After watching Mister Maker we had a go at making a bits & bobs picture using a letter ‘m’ for ‘mummy’ and the playdoh came out too
After lunch we went too the library and the boys had a great time and we were the only ones there in the children’s section, so they made the most of this and didn’t want to go when it was time to leave!
Saturday
This morning Burton went and got his hair cut and was a very good boy and sat really still
At lunchtime my Mum, Step Dad, brother and his girlfriend came up as I had made a Mum a mothers day meal. My brother does come home very often (he lives in London) and it was the first time he had seen my house and I have been living here since November 2008!
As you can see Jenson was not impressed at posing for the camera !!
Sunday
was Mother’s Day and I was woken up by Burton and when I went down to his room to say hello he informed me that he has a hole in his ear! Well fancy that!
I actually walked past this surprise to begin with as I headed to the kitchen to make the boys their breakfast
and when I saw it Burton wished me a Happy Birthday!! I don’t know if you can see very clearly, but the front of the envelope is covered in ‘m’ ‘s for mummy! He chose the card and the gifts himself.
We went to Jon’s parents for lunch with his brothers and their partners and children which meant there were 15 of us altogether! Lunch was hot dogs cooked on the BBQ even though it did rain right as we were about to eat. However, luckily it didn’t rain for long and we were all able to make the most of the sunshine after we had eaten.

Sounds like a very lovely and very busy week.
Burton always looks so grown up and “in control” when he’s in the barbers chair. Charles wriggles everywhere and wants to constantly look at what the barber is doing.
Charles told me he’d made me a birthday card (instead of saying he’s drawn in my mothers day card)
Your flowers are beautiful xx

Love those flowers and the big M made up with different stuff. So pleased Burton is settling in a bit, it is so hard especially for us. What a gorgeous day for going to the park and Tuesday sounded very trying. x
