I am lucky enough to live very close to the sea (nearest beach is about 7 miles away!) and now that Burton is old enough to get about a bit more, we took him rock pooling. Asides from him and I we also went with Daddy and his mum and her mum so quite a few generations of Burton’s family enjoyed his first rock pooling adventure 🙂
We visited the beach of Appledore which is an ideal location for rock pools and very quickly Burton’s grandma, who grew up in this fishing village, found a teeny tiny crab.
Being the adventurous boy he is, Burton was keen to hold the crab in his own hand
Of course we put the crab back and covered it over with a rock so as to make it feel at home again!
Rock pooling fun is a great activity to do as Something For The Weekend. Don’t forget to check out the other fab ideas over at THINLY SPREAD

I lived in Appledore and the rockpools are my favourite place in the whole world. I’ve spent many afternoons in all weathers sitting down there taking in the beautiful scenery. I soooooo need a trip there soon! x

Where do you live now? X

I live in Essex now. We moved here to be close to our Granddaughter. It was the right thing to do and we love it here but I constantly yearn for Appledore x

Ahhhh I’m so jealous that you live so close to the beach! I have to drive for an hour to get to our nearest one – I need to move closer seeing as my business revolves around driftwood!!!! Ha ha. Great photos, looks like you had a lovely day x
