Camping, Crabbing, Strawberry Picking & The Eden Project

I am a bit behind with my Country Kids this week again. My great bloggers bake off  linky and life outside of blogging has been keeping me very busy these last few weeks. However, I hate not to post the photos I have taken of the boys enjoying the last days of summer when we had warmer weather and sunshine without the rain we have had for the last week on and off.

Last week we did some lovely things to make the most of the end of summer:

Crabbing at Appledore

Camping in the Wild
(just the one night!) aka Camping in Cornwall which means I can tick another one of the 50 Things off the list

A trip to the Eden Project

I have been wanting to visit here for years, having only visited previously to see a gig as part of the Eden Sessions. We had a wonderful day and I totally love what the Eden Project is about and what they stand for and their values. It offers a great resource for learning and the biomes are just amazing!

I felt that although pricey to get in, once you were through the entrance the value for money for food and drinks was excellent and there really is sooooo much to see and do. I cannot wait to visit again, as although the boys enjoyed running around and spotting all the different colours in the flower beds and seeign the butterflies and plantlife in the biomes, I think they will appreciate it even more as they get older and learn about plantlife at school.

I was sent complimentary tickets to visit the Eden Project with Superbreak http://www.superbreak.com/short_breaks/uk_weekend_breaks.htm

Finally last week, I took the boys strawberry picking at a nearby pick your own nursery a few miles away. We had done this last summer and I had been meaning to return for the last few weeks. It was an eventful visit to say the least!!! Ha ha I won’t go into anymore details, but we did end up with some lovely juicy and sweet strawberries!

  1. This looks like so much fun. I’ve never even considered taking Amy camping. The lack of electricity you know and ehm no proper toilet 😉

  2. Jenny I love this post you have packed so much into your last week of summer no wonder you hardly have time to blog it all. I am so glad you did. We haven’t managed the Eden project all season again which is such a shame given we have tickets. I know it will be Xmas again for us with the lights and the ice rink. Well done on the camping, even a night would be pushing it for me, my concerns are just like Carolin. Welly boots to go for a wee in the night is so off putting but hey you did it and managed to make it look fun too! A great Country Kids link up.

    • thanks Fiona. i love the eden project and wished i could have stayed for longer – too much in one day and with 2 boys and a daddy who moaned at how hot it was!
