Liberally grease your dalek cake mould - I used cake release as mentioned above
cream together the butter and sugar for several minutes until smooth, pale and creamy
Add the eggs and continue to beat for another couple of minutes
Then sift in the flour and cocoa powder and fold in carefully until all the flour and cocoa powder have been combined
Pour the cake batter into the mould Ensure that the mix goes into all the nooks and crannies of the mould
Place on a baking tray and cook in the oven for approx 60 minutes but it may take a little longer. DO not open the oven before 45 minutes
IF the cake is getting a little too brown and is still not cooked in the middle, the cover loosely with foil and continue cooking until cooked all the way through
Once cooked, remove from the oven and leave to cool in the mould - I left if for 1 hour
Carefully remove the cake from the mould and place onto a wire rack until completely cooled
Once the cake is cooked down, stand up on its base and cover with the edible silver silk - I did not cover the entire cake (see above photo)
Then cover the decorative items with the silver silk and add to the cake.
If you want to add some antaenne , then feel free to use what you are able
