Lego Burgers

Ingredients
  • *For the burgers* (This will make approx 8 medium burgers)
  • 500g mince beef
  • 100g red pesto
  • 1 tsp garlic granules
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • black pepper for seasoning
  • *For the waffles* (this amount will make 4-6 waffles and you need 2 per person)
  • 150g self-raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon runs honey
  • 1 large range egg
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 240 ml semi-skimmed milk
  • *Finishing Touches*
  • lettuce
  • cheese slices
  • carrot slices
Instructions
  1. *For the burgers*
  2. Place all of the ingredients into a large bowl. Using clean hands, mix the meat and flavours well
  3. Now shape the meat into medium sized patties (or if you have a Lego man mould, use this instead)
  4. Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour
  5. When you are ready to cook your burgers, pre heat the oven to 180oC / 160oC fans
  6. Now place a non stick pan over a medium heat and brown the burgers carefully yon each side
  7. Transfer to an oven proof dish and cook for 15 minutes until cooked with through
  8. Meanwhile make the waffles :
  9. *For the waffles*
  10. Switch your waffle maker on, and spray the plates with a little oil
  11. Place all of the ingredients into a food processor or large bowl and beat well to make a thick batter
  12. now spoon the batter onto the waffle maker and cook for 3-5 minutes until cooked and golden
  13. *Assembling the Burgers*
  14. Take waffle and place some lettuce and cheese on to it and then top with a burger, and then another waffle
  15. Now place 3 carrot slices on to the top of the waffle burger
  16. Serve alongside some fries and enjoy
