Serves: 9
- 225g unsalted butter, softened
- 200g caster sugar
- 4 eggs
- 50g good quality milk chocolate
- 50g good quality dark chocolate
- 4tsp hot chocolate powder
- 4tbsp warm milk
- 100g self raising flour
- 100g cocoa powder
- 5 Pick Up biscuits, cut in half (you will only need 8 - so you can eat the 9th one as a cooks perk!)
- 200g milk chocolate, melted
- 1 x bag of Cadbury Curly Wurly Squirlies (optional)
- Preheat the oven to 180C/160C (fan)
- Grease and line a large brownie sized square cake tin with non-stick baking parchment.
- Dissolve the hot chocolate powder in 4 tablespoons of warm milk and leave to one side
- In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and beat well
- In food processor add the chocolate and blitz to chop to make smaller pieces .
- Add the chocolate into the butter and egg mixture and mix
- Add the milky chocolate drink and mix again
- Add the flour and cocoa powder and mix well
- Pour the half of the brownie batter into the prepared tin , then add 8 of the Pick Up biscuit halves onto the top the batter
- Pour over the remaining brownie batter and smooth over.
- Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes. The brownie should have a slight wobble and the top a slight crust
- Allow to cool in the tin completely, then place on a wire rack to cool.
- I added some melted chocolate onto the top of my cold brownie and then topped with some of the Cadbury Curly Wurly Squirlies
- leave to cool and then cut into squares.
- Cut into squares or rectangular slices and top each one with a walnut piece if you want to.
