  1. love the idea of adding the strawberries in the middle – what a great idea. I loved watching botanical week this evening and would love to attempt something properly floral but so pressed for time this week at work that I think I’ll have to reblog an autumn bake from last year if that is ok. It does fit the botanical theme well i think. x

  2. I like the idea of adding basil to a cake and I’m think inking it would work really well with citrus flavours! Your cake looks really pretty with the strawberries

  3. Ooh I bet that tasted so good Jenny 🙂 I love how well strawberries and basil work together, although I’ve tried it on pavlavas I’ve never used the idea in a cake before. The way you’ve given a little strawberry surprise through the centre of the cake and how they’ve turned all jammy is lovely.

  4. Love your interpretation of the theme this week! I especially like the idea of that strawberry surprise in the middle and I do love that combination of strawberry and basil! Thanks for linking up to #CookBlogShare this week 🙂 Eb x

I love the strawberries inside your cake and the addition of basil sounds delightful. I also went for a loaf cake, like you I was thinking about the eating of the bake afterwards.

  6. Strawberry and basil – Yum. Im a bit of a fan adding herbs to bakes and cakes so this really appeals to me. I have a recipe for basil ice cream on my blog that I think would go fabulously well with this cake.

I love the look and sound of this. We like berries in cake because of the mushiness!

This looks so yummy, Basil works so well in sweet stuff. The mixer looks good too.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment, a virtual cup of tea and slice of cake awaits you x
