Well what a fantastic week 1 we had – 36 recipes were linked up, and it has to be said they all looked amazing!! It is never easy deciding who will be Star Baker or Bakers, but please remember this little bake off is just for fun, and if you did not get crowned with the title this week, we still have 9 more bake offs to go ๐
Normally, I show all of the recipes linked up in my round up posts, but I will be honest this does take a lot of time so this year I am just going to feature my favourites and if you want to see the rest, you can look back to Week 2 here. or visit the pinterest board.
Thank you also to the lovely Andrea who guest hosted ๐
So for those of you who do not already know, last weeks 2nd episode featured 3 biscuit categories which were:
*Biscotti
*Arlettes
*3D Biscuit Box with biscuits to sit inside
Before I share this weeks Star Bakers with you, I just want to show you an entry from the adorable Jacob who sadly did not make the linky deadline in time this week, but it is a brilliant creation and I wanted to make sure you all saw it
Well done that boy ๐
So back to this weeks Star Bakers, and again I will select one baker from each of the biscuit categories
Biscotti
Aaaaagh so many delicious flavour combinations were incorporated into the biscotti which were submitted, from ones with nuts and fruit, to those chocolate coated, drizzled and dipped and even ones with an armadillo (well Daim bar, but if you are as old as me you will recall those adverts!). Made With Pink’s gorgeous looking biscotti was so neat and pretty, and I was also really impressed with Serena’s biscotti and she is a runner up to the actual Star Baker, because producing 3 amazing looking biscotti was a brilliant effort. However, in the end I am going to go with the one that I would most like to try the most and that would be Helen’s Spiced Apple Biscotti with Caramel Sauce & Crumble Dip
Arlettes
Despite being really impressed with Carrie’s savoury Arlettes, I decided that she was just pipped to the winning post by Angela’s with I think turned out to be better than a lot made on the actual bake off last Wednesday!
Biscuits Boxes & Biscuits
Some scrumptious biscuits and cookies were linked up, so many I would love to have tried alongside my cup of tea! In the end though, it was down to 3 bloggers who actually made biscuit boxes and they were: Cathy, Meg and Tracy – all highly commended for tackling the showstopper. In the end, I have decided to award Star baker for this round to Cathy, because of all the assortment of biscuits she and her daughter made and the box was decorated very neatly too.
I have a badge for you all if you would like one – please email me and I can pop one over for you to display on your blog ๐
If you would like to enter the #GBBOBloggers2015 bake off, the rules are here and the new linky will be live Thursday morning at 9am – week 3 is Bread week and the lovely Jo will be guest hosting. You can also check back here after the show finishes on Wednesday to see my Bread recipe ๐
Happy baking x
Cathy Glynn
I must say was really impressed with every entry this week, they were all amazing. Thank you Jenny x
Tracy
Wow – not an easy job to judge them. I must say, the star baker winners have all produced spectacular goodies. Those arlettes are better than Mary’s!
HELEN
thanks for choosing my Biscotti! I know what a difficult task it is to choose winners, especially with so many great bakes – well done everyone.

You really have a difficult task on your hands every week Jenny, the bakes are wonderful! It’s such a shame Jacob missed the linkup dead line – his bake looks fabulous, I’m loving the giraffe!
