Welcome to the second Great Bloggers Bake Off Round Up for 2014 and very soon, a few scrolls further down this page, I will reveal this weeks Star Baker or Bakers.
This weeks biscuit categories were

and because so many of you, including myself, opted to bake a biscuit or cookie there are 4 categories in total.
Thank you to everyone that linked up – including my own post there were 42 of you who baked along in total which is amazing!!! Well done and may I just say as a big fan of sweet biscuits, I have enjoyed seeing all your scrummy looking bakes. I think you will agree this is a fantastic collection of biscuit recipes all in one place.
I loved reading some of the stories behind the bakes and it has been a hard once again to pick a favourite/favourites.
And so lets move on to Star Baker for week 2
I was going to choose a baker from each of the categories BUT having spent most of the night looking back over all of the entries, I have decided that the bakers who put in the most effort, creativity and baking work were those who entered with their 3D biscuits. I hope all of you who entered will agree that all 4 entries were really well done and clever.
After much deliberating I am awarding this weeks Star Baker to Jenny and her Hansel and Gretal Cottage
It is so well made and I love that Jenny even made her own tempered chocolate tiles for the house, after the thought of what Mary Berry would say if she has just stuck white chocolate buttons on!!! So well done Jenny 🙂
Special mentions also to Meg for her GF seaside scene – I am amazed by how well her biscuits were as they were gluten free and I like the fact she used honeycombe for the sand. Well done also to Carole with her Daleks – the decorations were so good and you could see they took a while to complete.
And finally, I have to say well done to J for his Harry Potter 3D scene
– he designed it all himself and did a lot of the cutting and decorating too, and I think it looks wonderful and I cannot wait to see what you come up with next week. So especially for you, I am creating a Junior Star Baker badge , and this week it goes to you. Well done and keep up your baking passion.
If any other youngsters want to join in, please do encourage them to bake and join in , it is lovely to see kids in the kitchen.
If anyone of the winners would like a badge to display on their blog (and for last week too) please let me know and I can email one over.
A BIG thank you again to all of you who entered and see you all again on Wednesday when it will be BREAD week
xx

After attempting 3-D biscuits (very unsuccessfully) you’re definitely right in choosing the winners from that category! And an amazing effort from J designing and creating his Harry Potter scene.

I love how every year, Great British Bake Off inspires parents to get into the kitchen with their kids! We had great fun baking some biscuits after last week’s show – not 3D though, unfortunately. I’m not brave enough. A lovely post, thank you.
