So yet again you have all done yourselves proud and produced another weeks worth of amazing bakes. I have to be honest I was not expecting as many entries as we received due to the categories, so I am very pleased that all things considered we had 25!!

STAR BAKER WEEK 8
Well, looking at all those fantastic bakes I think you can see how hard it is to make a decision. Sooooooo, Helen Holloywood and myself, Jenny Berry have taken the easier option of awarding more than one Star Baker again this week (well, its our bake off so we can bend the rules!).
Before I announce the winners I would like to say well done to you all – you are all amazing bakers and you all keep pushing yourselves making it hard for Helen and I to choose our favourites.
BUT choose some winners we have and we are going with 4 – yes 4!! One from each category and the winners are
*trumpet fanfares & drum rolls*
Seeded Spelt Mini Loaves – Multi Layer Mummy
We loved the good rise of these and that crunchy seeded topping
Cucumber & Lemon Cake – Veggie Desserts
We loved the original use of cucumber in this recipe and the wonderful green coloured sponge it gave and the elderflower icing sounds divine
Pumpkin Novelty Cake – Mummy Makes Cakes
We adored this novelty pumpkin cake which was actually a carrot cake filled with a hidden treat of jelly snakes and candied roasted almonds.
Chocolate & Cobnut Dacquoise – Good Life Mum
What more can we say about this? As soon as we saw a glimpse of this on the day of the GBBO show Helen and I messaged one another to say we had a winner there and then! All the entries in the dacquoise category were amazing – but this one was something else! Honestly, this looks like it was made in a patisserie!
So well done to all of you (please contact me for your badges) and commiserations to everyone else BUT you are all brilliant and thank you ALL for joining in again and we hope to see you next week xx
Helen
great round up Jenny & congratulations to all of the winners!
