I think you will agree an amazing array of pastry clad sweet and savoury pies and tarts.
It was another hard week to apppoint a Star Baker because the standard was so high again and I wish we could award more than one! After much deliberating Helen Hollywood and myself, Jenny Berry *ahem* are pleased to annouce that our 4th Star Baker is……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
Karin from Cafe Bebe with her Gluten Free Mini Bluberry Pies ! We felt that considering that GF pastry is renowned for being hard to work with, Karin’s pies looked delectable and we loved her styling too. Well done Karin – let me have your email address so I can send you your badge 🙂
Also we would like to say a huge well done to Helen for making her own puff pastry and all those elements that made up her amazing French Tomato Tart !!!
Well done to you all though – I would have loved to sample some of those savoury pies on a cold day with some buttery mash or chips and gravy , or the sweet ones with custard – yum!
Also a huuuuuge thank you to everyone for joining in x
Next weeks GBBO challenge is all about Traybakes, tuiles and biscuits! Good luck x

Love the look of all of these! In fact, I was so inspired I’ve actually got more pies baking in the oven as we speak… sweet ones this time, mini apple pies 🙂 That’s what I love about this challenge, it gets you baking things you may not normally bother to bake and discover you enjoy it more or find it easier than you first thought. It’s home-made pies from now on!

They all look so great – I went and commented on quite a few earlier 🙂 I made tuilles yesterday and just need to fill them before blogging it for this week 🙂
